How will the ITP help deliver on NHS England’s commitment to the FYFV?
NHS England has developed the innovation and technology payment (ITP) 2018/19 scheme as part of its commitment to the Five year forward view.
The ITP builds on the innovation and technology tariffand aims to support the NHS take up innovation by removing financial or procurement barriers.
Through the scheme, useful innovations or technologies will be identified through a competitive process. NHS England will then identify ways of supporting their adoption across the NHS, for example through introducing a reimbursement for usage or centrally procuring items.
Implementation of a payment mechanism or procurement will be operational from April 2018.
