Diagnostics collaboration platform launches

Could network create a new northern diagnostics powerhouse?

Academic and healthcare organisations in the Northeast have come together to promote advances in diagnostics.

Diagnostics North East is described as a ‘a unique joined-up diagnostics infrastructure for industry and academia’. It is a collaboration between the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Newcastle University and the Academic Health Science Network for the North East and North Cumbria (AHSN NENC).

The platform brings together researchers, clinicians and the diagnostic industry to create innovations through R&D, evaluation and adoption.

Diagnostics North East’s partners include: Newcastle University Single Cell Unit, CEPA Biobank, Northern Genetics Services, Newcastle Laboratories, the Centre for In Vivo Imaging, Newcastle Molecular Pathology Node, NIHR Newcastle Medtech and In Vitro Diagnostic Co-Operative, NICE External Assessment Centre and NIHR Innovation Observatory.
