New care models: How are they changing the NHS and its relationship with pharma?

The NHS is undergoing major change, following the introduction of place-based care in the form of Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs), and a move towards Accountable Care Systems (ACSs), which have recently been renamed Integrated Care Systems (ICSs).

ICSs, which will replace STPs, will see budgets integrated and payment by results dismantled, with a single provider or group of providers responsible for all the healthcare needs of a defined population in order to improve outcomes and reduce costs, across a defined area.

To enable this type of largescale regional commissioning, new models of care are also being introduced in other parts of the NHS, following changes such as Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) mergers and collaborative working arrangements between GP surgeries, via routes such as federations and NAPC’s primary care homes.

Our free on-demand webinar, will explore how STPs are tackling the healthcare needs of their local populations and how ICSs will drive further change in place-based care models. We will also look at associated structural and patient pathway changes within the NHS, particularly in primary care. We will also assess what this means for pharma and how it can engage with the NHS in these fast-changing and increasingly tough economic times.

This event features presentations from our guest speaker, David Thorne, Managing Director, Blue River Consulting; alongside Wilmington Healthcare’s Paul Midgley Director of NHS insight, and Steve How, Business Development Director.
