West Midlands Mental Health Commissioning Network

Further to the continued success of the regional Mental Health Commissioning Networks in 2016 we held a ninth West Midlands event.

The conference was again chaired by Professor Swaran P Singh – Head, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Deputy Head, Division of Health Sciences, Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist, Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and Commissioner, Equity and Human Rights Commission on Tuesday 25th April 2017 and focused on:

  • Adult ADHD & STPs – Turning a multi-agency problem into ROI for patients and the wider system
  • Depression – Recovery focus in the community to free up resources within secondary care
  • Schizophrenia – Transforming outcomes through Early Intervention

The full agenda is included below.

The aim of the network is to bring together like minded people from primary and secondary care, and associated organisations involved in the commissioning and delivery of services to care for and support patients with mental health conditions. This provides a platform for active discussion and exchange of ideas to cope with the commissioning challenges encountered in mental health in a more integrated way.

Feedback from previous meetings:

“High quality presentations”, “Interesting presentations, discussions and networking opportunity”, “A very informative day”

Recommended for:

“Commissioning directors”, “Leads for mental health”, “Clinicians with management roles”, “CCG commissioning managers”
