Scottish Medicines Consortium invites industry engagement

Will engagement event improve understanding between industry and SMC on access to medicines in Scotland?

The Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) is to hold a full-day industry engagement event in Glasgow in September.

The aim is to give people working in the pharmaceutical industry an opportunity to gain a greater understanding of SMC (the body that recommends whether new medicines should be approved for routine use in the NHS in Scotland) and its processes.

The event on Tuesday 20 September will hear from speakers including SMC’s chief pharmacist Anne Lee, and Catriona McMahon from the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry. Topics will include updates on the latest changes to SMC processes following a recent review and a look to what the future holds for access to medicines in Scotland.
