Spinal Cord Stimulation For Cancer-related Neuropathic Pain Diseases Insight Report

While survival rates from cancer are increasing, and improving survival remains a key priority for the NHS, many cancer patients experience chronic pain related to their cancer or cancer treatment. This report highlights the patient experience of living with neuropathic pain resulting from cancer or cancer treatments and describes how spinal cord stimulation (SCS) as a minimally invasive therapy can support patients with cancer and neuropathic pain. The current landscape of patients receiving this treatment in the NHS in England is reviewed and assessments are given on how to improve access to SCS and how the NHS can take actions to provide further clinical and cost-effective pain management for patients with cancer.
